Keyboard shortcuts on iPad External Keyboard

One of the reasons I loved this game on the Mac was because i could use the keyboard to choose which cards i wanted to discard and i could use the number pad to decide if it was a pair or 15 etc. So when I downloaded the iPad Pro version I was very happy that It was exactly the same, but It doesn’t give the option to use the keys if a keyboard is connected to the device. Could anyone make that possible?
